A small studio

One Designs started as a freelance practice in Thousand Oaks and grew into a studio that both serves clients and builds its own products. That second half is the part most agencies can't claim.
The studio
Why we build our own products.
Most agencies hand a site over and never see what happens next. We wanted to feel the whole arc — launch, first real users, the bug at 2am, the feature nobody used, the one that changed everything.
So we built Handora, Ceylona, DCareTree and CakeNest ourselves. Running them taught us more about performance budgets, checkout friction, and honest analytics than twelve years of client work could on its own. Everything we learn there goes straight into what we build for you.

Four things we don't compromise on.
Speed is a feature
Every build gets a performance budget agreed up front. If a design idea can't hit it, we change the design — not the target.
Accessible by default
WCAG 2.2 AA is a build requirement, not an add-on. Keyboard navigation, contrast, and screen reader support are checked before launch.
You own everything
Domain, hosting, repo, and content are all in your name at handover. If you ever want to leave, nothing stops you.
Honest scope
We'll tell you when you don't need the thing you asked for. A smaller correct project beats a bigger wrong one.

Handora and CakeNest launched — a handmade marketplace and a marketplace for home bakers, both designed, built and operated in-house.

Four ventures, and a company
Ceylona and DCareTree joined them, and One Designs is being registered as the parent for client services and all four products.
